You're Beautiful even If I don't tell you everyday!

Yes, I know it was mean.....

When you have children and they question the way they look or compare themselves to others.....STOP THEM!!!

I may not the be the looker of all time but I pride myself in telling my kids they are amazing people with great imaginations. EVERY DAY!!! Yes, I have told them how beautiful they are or handsome, but this only amplified their perceptions of themselves as "not as pretty as another".
I have always questioned myself and my weight and looks but I'll be damned if my kids are going to put themselves down for any "actress or actor/ supermodel" on TV. My kids will understand the strength it is to have self esteem and love for yourself before you can ever love another person.

Loving yourself is key, keeping them projected is the lock that needs to be opened. So many young children are experimenting with makeup and "eating disorders" at 5 years old because they are being told they are fat, ugly or stupid.

I know that bullying is in schools as young as kindergarten. This has got to stop at home. Please, pride your children in striving to show others how smart they are,
not on how much money they spend on their shoes, or clothes.

Kids go to school for an education not a fashion show. Create a space for kids to be kids, "Oh, wait we do have that, it's called school" Nothing matters more than to watch your children grow up and be proud of who they are and what they wish to become.

Yes, kids will be kids but I do my best to teach my children respect, honesty and to love themselves. Even if other people don't accept them they stay true to themselves because that is all that really matters.
This goes even for all the YouTube videos and the posts on Instagram and other social media. I have banned all these wonderful things from my home due to the negative impact it has on our youth today.

We all want our children to grow up to be healthy, happy individuals that create and change life after us.  Giving them the tools to get there is our job. We only carve the path until they are old enough to figure this life out for themselves.

Sometimes I can be a bit judgmental but my kids are my everything and my future.

I want to thank you for reading and sharing my blog.
