My lost pet story
My baby girl Sassy, Sharing my lost pet story
If anyone has ever lost a loving pet they would understand my thoughts and feelings today. I lost my loving chihuahua Sassy In Dec. of 2017. She was my best friend for 11 years. I first got her when my first daughter was still in my belly. She was so tiny and soft. Sassy had a way about her that was calm and sweet. She didn't bark unless someone was at the door or made her feel uneasy. My grandmother also got her sister whom was bigger than she was. Sassy was considered the runt of the litter. Her sister was Tippy my grandmother named her baby. She passed away two weeks before my grandmother did. Baby had bad seizures and her meds stopped working. My grandmother's cancer spread from her lungs to her brain with in a matter of 3 weeks.Sassy passed almost 3 months after I had a bilateral mastectomy for Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, I had to put her to sleep (permanently) when her cancer spread from her neck and leg to her organs and stomach area. Vet hospital told me it was no longer an option to have her go through cancer treatment, she was weak and tired from just waking up. She started to have seizures and vomiting every time she would eat. She was in so much pain. I wanted her to make it through but the vet misinformed me saying she needed a hysterectomy seeing lesions on her skin. The vet told me they were just from hormones. They did not ask to test the tumors, instead had me do surgery on her and that's when it spread. I was devastated. It's been a year next month that my baby has been gone and I still miss her so much. She would lay with me on the couch and cuddle with me when I went to sleep.
My depression has skyrocketed and my stress has overflowed. Sometimes I just stop and think about how many times she has came up to me to cuddle when she knew I was sad or upset. Time would stop with sassy. She was the sweetest animal I ever had the pleasure of loving.
I know that many people I have known in my life love their animals very much and treat them as part of the family. They appreciate the love they share between human and animal. Taking care of an animal sometimes feels much more rewarding than taking care of small humans. I am mother of children and fur babies. She was my rock star and she kept me sane.
Thank you for reading, Please share if you love animals too.
*Cheers to Sassy in the stars*
