Did you just say suicide? Omg!

Suicide is a touchy subject. Why? Why is there so much stigma around the word and meaning of suicide?  The other day I was surfing through videos on Facebook and stumbled upon a video of a tragic story. This story was of a 13 or 14 year old little girl whom had committed suicide after watching a show of "13 Reasons Why". Now I am deeply saddened about this young girls life being cut short. What I am confused about is that people in general are blaming a show for the death of this young girl. This young girl really didn't do it because of the show and the show didn't do this to her. Please let me explain. If a teenager or an adult believe that suicide is the only option out then someone wasn't doing their job. No we can't watch someone 24/7 but we as humans can see signs and changes in others behaviors. Especially our children, if we pay attention. Signs for concern for a suicidal person (either a teen or adult); Loss of interest in things they use...

You're Beautiful even If I don't tell you everyday!

Yes, I know it was mean..... When you have children and they question the way they look or compare themselves to others.....STOP THEM!!! I may not the be the looker of all time but I pride myself in telling my kids they are amazing people with great imaginations. EVERY DAY !!! Yes, I have told them how beautiful they are or handsome, but this only amplified their perceptions of themselves as "not as pretty as another".  I have always questioned myself and my weight and looks but I'll be damned if my kids are going to put themselves down for any "actress or actor/ supermodel" on TV. My kids will understand the strength it is to have self esteem and love for yourself before you can ever love another person.  Loving yourself is key, keeping them projected is the lock that needs to be opened. So many young children are experimenting with makeup and "eating disorders" at 5 years old because they are being told they are fat, ug...

My baby girl Sassy, Sharing my lost pet story            If anyone has ever lost a loving pet they would understand my thoughts and feelings today. I lost my loving chihuahua Sassy In Dec. of 2017. She was my best friend for 11 years. I first got her when my first daughter was still in my belly. She was so tiny and soft. Sassy had a way about her that was calm and sweet. She didn't bark unless someone was at the door or made her feel uneasy. My grandmother also got her sister whom was bigger than she was. Sassy was considered the runt of the litter. Her sister was Tippy my grandmother named her baby. She passed away two weeks before my grandmother did. Baby had bad seizures and her meds stopped working. My grandmother's cancer spread from her lungs to her brain with in a matter of 3 weeks.          Sassy passed almost 3 months after I had a bilateral mastectomy for Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, I had to put her to sleep ...
